* What should we bring to the session?
The rule of thumb is: come prepared!
* Guitarists should bring spare strings and batteries and picks and guitar cables and guitar straps and guitar tuners and hand tools and clean rags, etc. You should carry those things out of principle anyway. Musicians that are perpetually unprepared don't last long in this business.
* Bring your own drinks and snacks. I can provide water and coffee. There are a couple of grocery stores and a number of fast food joints within walking distance from here.
* Guitar players can run through my Vox combo amp or Guitar Pod but it's been my experience that most guitarists are fond of their own rigs and stomp boxes and whatnot so I encourage you to bring your own gear - assuming it is in good working order. If nothing else it gives us another sonic color to work with.
* Most bassists are content to leave their rig at home and run through my Bass Pod or direct through one of my recording preamps. That's fine by me.
* Drummers can use my studio set but definitely bring your own sticks. You can bring your own snare or cymbals or pedals if you want. If you're going to bring your own drum set then bring the whole set. I would prefer it if you didn't try to retrofit pieces of your set onto my set or vice versa. Call me ahead of time to discuss if there are any questions.
* You don't need to bring any mics, mic stands or mic cables unless it's something special that you are comfortable and familiar with. Some singers like the way a particular microphone sounds on their voice. I've had a few drummers bring their own drum mics because they prefer the way those mics sound on their equipment. Bring it if you want to.
* You don't need to bring headphones unless you have your own phones that you're comfortable with. Rock drummers tend to have specific tastes here. Headphones are always falling off because of the constant head banging. I can't guarantee any of my phones are going to grip your head tight enough to never fall off. I've actually duct-taped phones to people's heads out of sheer desperation :-)

* Bring money! :-)
If there is any question, I suggest you call ahead of time and ask. If you're still not sure, bring whatever it is you think you'll need just to be on the safe side.
