Artist: Hobos For Hire
Ear candy. That's what this band is all about. They can be light and breezy one minute and full-on rockin' the next. Another band that seems to have far-reaching influences. A little prog rock. A little jam band. A little of this, a little of that. Stir it all together and what you get is ear candy. Great stuff! Can't wait to hear what they come up with next. A lot of fun in the studio too. They have no fear when it comes to experimenting with gadgets and tones. Anything not normal is good. Wake Up - Written and performed by Hobos For Hire

Artist: Lifelike Violence
If you dig bands like Alice in Chains and Sevendust then you'll like Lifelike Violence. One of the better local metal bands to pass through here in recent memory. Cause and Effect - Written and performed by Lifelike Violence. |

Artist: Subject To Change
Brutal and crushing and definitely rated M for mature audiences, Subject To Change came in and kicked some major booty on their recent demo recording. A big hit with our boys in Iraq! Semper Fi - Written and performed by Subject To Change |

Artist: Westbury
Primus meets King Crimson meets Frank Zappa meets The Red Hot Chili Peppers meets... Incubus? This band has so many different influences it's hard to describe. All I know is, I like it. A lot! One of the more musically satisfying recording sessions I've been involved with. Prime Meridian - Written and performed by Westbury |

Artist: The Never Ending Dance
The future of modern rock music is in good hands thanks to The Never Ending Dance. Disciplined. Educated. Artistic. And just plain fun to see live. Guitars and bodies flying across the stage. If these guys aren't careful they will hurt themselves :-). And I can say I saw them before they got big and famous. So I got that going for me. Release Me - Written and performed by The Never Ending Dance |

Artist: Treetop Affair
Treetop Affair was a local rock/blues/jam band that had been playing around the Chicagoland area for a few years. The band has since gone their separate ways but this is one of those rare recordings that I keep in my CD collection just because I dig the music so much. Matt Robinson, the lead guitarist and singer for Treetop Affair, recorded his first solo album here and is currently playing clubs in the Chicago in support of that CD release. Turkey Sandwich - Written and produced by Treetop Affair |

Artist: Curbside Life
For a brief moment in time, the following song was being considered for a movie released in 2006 called "Running With Scissors" starring Alec Baldwin, Annette Bening and Gwyneth Paltrow. Unfortunately, the song didn't make the final cut of that movie. But vindication came in the form of an independent film called Perilous Ties which was written and directed by Melissa Kosar, a local up-and-coming filmmaker. Melissa chose a number of CSL songs for her movie which premiered on April 10th, 2006. CSL's first original studio album "My Own Reality Show" was released to coincide with the movie premier. Melissa Kosar has posted a short demo reel promotional video on her website which starts off with a segment of the music video she produced for Curbside Life in relation to the movie. If you keep watching after the music video ends you'll see some scenes from the actual movie. Lost - Written and produced by Curbside Life. Used with permission from Curbside Life. Copyright 2004-2006. |

Symptom was a short-lived punk rock band fronted by an excellent singer/songwriter named Glenn Garrabrant. Glenn has since gone on to form a new band called The Psycho Kid and is in the process of conquering the world. I am not the I AM - Written and produced by Glenn Garrabrant and Symptom. |

Artist: Jigawatt Trio
Jigawatt Trio is a three-piece rock/funk/fusion band out of Chicago consisting of guitarist Steve Richards, bassist Justin Francoise and drummer Chris Morrow. These guys are all accomplished, educated and talented musicians. These guys do session work, teach, write and perform. I've worked with Chris quite a few times here on other sessions. I highly recommend him if you're looking for a good session drummer. In this particular session, the band came in to record the basic tracks and then Steve took the tracks home and mixed and mastered the songs using Sonar. These types of sessions are becoming commonplace now that more musicians are embracing PC-based recording software. It's always a pleasure to work with seasoned professionals! EMinor - Written and performed by the Jigawatt Trio. |
|
Artist: The Backseat Lovers
Another local band that, alas, is no more but I liked the song so much I decided to keep it up here. My My My - Written and performed by Backseat Lovers. |
|
Artist: Tim Cummings
A wizard! A true star! Tim writes, performs and produces everything himself. A virtual "one man band"! I thought these songs had "hit" written all over them. Tim is also available for studio session work if you are looking for talent for an upcoming project. Songs written and produced by Tim Cummings |

Artist: Aaron Davison Aaron is a really great Chicago area guitarist, songwriter and teacher. Some of the songs Aaron recorded here were used on a few daytime TV dramas. Memories of You
- Written and produced by Aaron Davison. |

Artist: 2 Fast Jack A great Chicagoland rock band. These guys are real tone-meisters. Definitely worth checking out. Can't Get Enough of You
- Written and performed by 2 Fast Jack |

Artist: Kristin Kitko (a.k.a. Kittyko) If you're interested in a fantastic children's CD, then check out Kittyko's CD release "Who let the fly in?". Kristin produced and recorded this CD here at LnL Recording. My daughter has listened to this CD so many times she's memorized all the words. |

Artist: Larry Kriz (yours truly)
The following clip is something I threw together fairly quickly. Sort of an experiment. I was messin' around with one of my virtual synthesizers one day and came up with this cool groove. So I programmed a drum track for it and overdubbed the guitar part using a guitar amp simulator program. I called this little ditty "Birds" because I recorded the guitar track with a PRS Custom 22 guitar with the bird inlays. Amazing what you can do with software these days. And now for something completely different. In early 2005, I signed on as a music producer for a health and fitness TV show that unfortunately never saw the light of day. Part of my job was to produce dance tracks for this show which were going to be used to showcase various workout routines. The exercise routines were to be based on the "cardio" style workout which is defined by a faster musical tempo (126-140 bpm). The whole point is to get your heart pumpin'. I offer this stuff out to the world as public domain. Feel free to use it however and whenever you see fit. The only compensation I ask is that I be credited as the songwriter and that I be notified if or when you actually use it. I dare you not to tap your foot :-)
